On Sunday, April 20, 2025, students from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the College of Engineering, as members of the ACI Student Chapter of Zakho, participated in the Innovation Expo for Engineering held at Knowledge University in Erbil Province. Their participation was under the supervision of Ms. (Dr. Sivar Dlkhaz Salahaddin), Adviser of the ACI Student Chapter.

With pride, one of the showcased projects was presented by a student from our college and received appreciation and recognition from the exhibition’s evaluation committee. The project, titled "Self-Healing Concrete", was developed by our talented student (Ari Hazem Hassan). It focuses on the use of a special type of bacteria that contributes to repairing and reducing cracks in concrete.

At the conclusion of the expo, the participating students were awarded certificates of appreciation and recognition for their efforts.
